CREATING A BACKUP ISOMETRIC STYLE

When working to create the best possible isometric style, you may find yourself making potentially risky changes or even many simple changes. Either way it is always important to make sure you are keeping a backup of your iso style just in case a change we makes doesn’t do what we intend.

To create a backup, you can simply copy the existing style inside of the Project Setup interface.

Creating a Backup Isometric Style

In Isometric DWG Settings (1) select one of the options that allows you to make changes to a specific iso style such as Title Block and Display. (2) Make sure the active style is the one you wish to make the backup for and click the Plus button to the right of the style name. (3) Make sure the Copy existing style option is active and enter a name for the duplicate style. I simply added “Backup of “ as a prefix. Once you decide on the name of your backup style (4) click Create.

Now a new isometric style will show up in the Isometric folder of your project.

As an alternative you could copy the contents of one of these folders to make a backup, but if you do make sure you do not copy the production or quick isos.

If you need to swap out your adjusted iso style back to using your original style, open the backup style folder and copy the ClientConfig.isf, Iso.atr, Iso.dwt, and IsoConfig.xml files.

You may want to move the modified versions of these files from the adjusted iso style to reference later, but we can place the backup files copied into the modified style’s folder. Once the files have been replaced the style will operate the same as your backup style does.
